I really don't have that many.
What makes me different from most collectors is that I actually OPEN and BUILD my vintage kits. You can see them here: http://www.theshreves.com/

Since I am not going to open this one, I am still looking for a mint or near mint (never used, preferably never built) RC10 Graphite.

Probably be some time before I come accross another

I think you need to open it, just to make sure all the parts are there! What if, you opened it up, and it is missing that one 5x8 bearing, or that one diff thrust washer, or the ball stud!

BTW, that is one cool story, if you ask me. I would never open it! Have fun jeep, and remember me in your will!

RC10 Graphite #1: It's in the right hands!

The funniest thing about all this is that when we "uncovered" it in the warehouse, we didn't think anything about it, really... it was an "unusual" kit, but not a real first-generation benchmark like the first gold-tub. Besides, we have so much really historic stuff just lying around... like the black corvette from the movie "Dead Pool", one of the very first original HANDMADE pre-production gold-tub RC10's that Curtis Husting made, Cliff Lett's 111-mph speed run car, etc, etc., that we just kind of overlooked that that kit may be really worth something.
It wasn't really "pounced upon" on E-Bay a couple of years ago, so we thought it was just a neat old kit, not particularly valuable. You can blame Ebay for all this, as it really brings the "collectors" out in all of us! I've bought some R/C stuff off E-Bay, like an original (not the reissue) Tamiya Tyrrell 6-wheeler, myself.
In talking with Julie Husting and Gene (who dropped by today), we thought it was really cool that someone wound up with the kit who really appreciates it. By the way, look for photos of Gene's "History Room" at his home on our website soon. He's got all kinds of stuff in there, and still working on it.
It's in the right hands!!!
By the way, hope you like your AE calendar!

Mike Ogle

Yes, Julie emailed me about the calendar today!
How cool

AE rules!

I just want to thank the very nice people at Associated for taking the time to help me out. When I first called I was stumbling all over. I did not know how to ask what I wanted to ask. I somehow thought it would be trivial to them.
Julie said she would look into it, and by gosh the very next day she had! Plus, Mike posted here too.

I have been looking for an RC10 Graphite for like a year. I am an Ebay junkie!
I never dreamed in a million years I would end up with the most collectible RC10 Graphite ever.

That is really something else, Jeep! It is extremely wonderful to hear how helpful the folks over there at AE have been regarding this.

BTW, what is you address, Jeep, and when is there usually no one in your house? Oh yeah, and where did you say you were storing the kit?

take care,
serv
